SURREY HILLS

ABOUT SURREY HILLS

The Surrey Hills is one of the few Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the UK, accounting for over a quarter of the land in Surrey. There is much to see here including one of Englands largest vineyards, several farms, scenic rivers and enchanting forests.

TIME & LOCATION

We will be meeting at 1:30pm on Sunday June 25th. The hike will begin at Leatherhead Station. Please aim to arrive early!

ACTIVITY LEVEL

This hike is suitable for all levels. The majority of the walk will be on flat ground, with some hill walking. We will take breaks and play games along the way, but feel free to comfortably pace yourself. The walk will be 3-4 hours including plenty of stops in between.

WHAT DO I NEED?

Make sure you have enough water, weather-appropriate sports clothing, comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. Consider the type of bag you carry – bumbags and lightweight rucksacks are best. I’d advise eating a decent breakfast beforehand, or bringing some food/snacks along as it’s unlikely we’ll see any shops along the way.

GETTING THERE

Public Transport: There are direct trains to Leatherhead Station from both Waterloo and Victoria. These trains take around 45-50 minutes.
Driving: The nearest car park is the Leatherhead Station Car Park, where you can park all day for just £2.60.
